Tuesday 28 June 2022

Australia’s leading trailerable fibreglass boat builder and retailer, is set to release the new six metre Bowrider XS 2000 model. With exclusive render image now available to the public, production slots are NOW open for delivery this coming Summer.

The new XS 2000 is designed for the unique Australian boating lifestyle and offers a proven multi-purpose John Savage Mako hull and a modern Whittley bow rider deck to create the ultimate, cross-over outboard powered, sports boat package.

Alan Whittley, Director of Sales & Marketing at Whittley Marine Group, had this to say about the XS 2000 exclusive pre-release to the market. “We are very excited to share with the Australian boating public exclusive pre-release images of our new XS 2000 model bow rider from Whittley. Since the introduction of the Group’s factory-owned dealer network across the country, boat buyers have been asking us about a bow rider model in our range. The company has listened and felt that the time was right to produce the first of a number of new bow rider models set for release from the Whittley Marine Group.”

The XS 2000 has a hull length of 6.17 metres and boasts a full-length rear lounge with a folding transom door for maximised space. The moulded rear swim platforms and high-quality folding ladder, ensure easy access to the water. At the bow, the XS 2000 has a moulded anchor sprit with anchor locker, designed to take an optional SavWinch. The black moulded dash is large enough to house a multi-function screen up to 9 inches wide. Mid ship, the boat features a full-length ski locker and premium rubber flooring throughout, as well as a 150-litre fuel tank with filler underfloor. The XS 2000 is also easy to tow on a dual axle Mackay Trailer and at around 1600 kgs dry weight, the XS 2000 can be towed by most mid-sized family vehicles and fits easily into most standard sized garages.

Mr. Whittley continued to say that, “You can be one of the first to secure a new XS 2000 Bow Rider package, with exclusive pre-release deals offered Australia wide. The new XS 2000 model will also be available with three custom made option packages, to suit consumer’s boating lifestyles and needs. Combined with this, is three unique drivers dash configurations and layouts to match the option packages, tailoring consumers needs to the correct package and dash style. It’s all part of making and choosing a new Whittley boat package as easy as possible, simply by a tick-and-flick tailored package.”

The 3 convenient option packages available on the XS 2000 are as follows; for the day boat family users there is the “Cherokee Sports Option”, the “Nova Wake Option” is for the water sports enthusiasts and includes a custom designed wake tower and other water sports related options and finally, there is the “Sports Fisher Option” package which has been put together for the family wanting a bowrider boat that they can also fish from.

“For many years, the popular bow rider style of day boat was dominated by the pressed aluminium boat brands. Consumers can now have an affordable alternative to a pressed aluminium bow rider in fibreglass that carries the Whittley badge ensuring a quality boat and new boat buying experience. Whittley Factory designers and boat-builders are confident the design and testing of this new model produces a winning combination and a true multipurpose boat. For recreational fishing, family boating and a lifestyle enjoyment, it is a unique boat design and model from our design team.” Mr. Whittley said.

The XS 2000 bowrider is made from fibreglass which offers many benefits over aluminium, including;

1) Sprayed and rolled for strength: no alloy fatigue or broken welds to repair, plus the option of foam filling for added strength.

2) No corrosion issues: drop a coin or sinker into an alloy hull and the corrosion process starts and can be quickly visible with electrolysis occurring.

3) Gelcoats sprayed for life: gelcoat is part of the moulded process unlike alloy paint that can fleck off and is prone to peeling with electrolysis.

4) Full length moulded chines: strategically located throughout the hull to slice through the water with ease.

5) Better & softer ride: nothing rides better than a fiberglass boat!

6) Less noise: fibreglass boats are quieter than alloy boats when at rest and on the move.

7) Increased fuel economy: the hull design shape is more slippery through the water which means less money spent at the bowser.

8) Easier to drive:  solid high sides and sure footed on the water, with a quick transition onto the plane.

” There are many benefits to owning a fibreglass boat over aluminium, from appearance to performance and also for longevity. I encourage you to visit a Whittley dealership to discuss the advantages of a fibreglass bowrider. For style, sophistication and ride, you can’t go past a fiberglass boat, just ask a fibreglass boat owner why they love their fibreglass boat!” Mr. Whittley finished by saying.
